ana mandara dalat.jpgFour Vietnamese buildings will receive ASEAN energy-saving awards Thursday on the sidelines of the ongoing 28th ASEAN Summit for Energy Ministers in Dalat.

In the Energy Saving Buildings contest held annually by the ASEAN Center for Energy, the first prize has been won by the Ana Mandara Resort in Dalat.

Two other Vietnamese buildings, Tien Dat Tourism Company in Hanoi and Landmark Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, won the second and third prizes.

In the Energy Management System contest, Hanoi’s Ocean Park wins a prize.

Both contests are held to encourage the efficient use of energy in member countries.

This year the organizers received 18 entries from six countries -- Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The 28th ASEAN Summit for Energy Ministers (ASEM 28) from Monday to Friday is titled “Energy savings and climate change,” and has attracted 600 delegates, including energy ministers from 10 ASEAN countries, Japan, South Korea, China, India, New Zealand and Australia, officials from the US and Russia, and business executives.

Last year two Vietnamese buildings -- the Saigon-Mui Ne Tourism Park and Can Tho University -- won prizes in the contests.
