Tour itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Saigon ( D )
Upon arrival at Saigon airport, you will be welcome by a guide from Vietnam Heritage Travel and transferred to our hotel in the center of Saigon. Once there you will be at your leisure and have time to relax. In the evening we will dine on wonderful Vietnamese cuisine at a fine restaurant in Saigon. You will then spend the night at the hotel (Dinner included)
Day 2: Saigon – City tour ( B, L )
Today we have full day to explore the highlights of Saigon including Notre Dame Cathedral, the General Post Office, the Formal Presidential Palace and the Museum of War Remnants. After lunch we will head to the center of China town to visit Binh Tay market, Thien Hau temple, and Ben Thanh market. We will stay overnight at the hotel in Saigon.
Day 3: Saigon – Mekong Delta ( B, L )
This morning we leave the city for the Mekong Delta. We arrive at Cai Be town, well known for it's floating market. We take our private boat for a cruise along the maze of waterways and canals. After vsiting some of the local cottage industries, we then go on to see a lovely Bonsai garden before a fabulous lunch. We continue our exploration toward the township of Vinh Long. From here we continue our bus journey to Can Tho. Overnight at Can Tho.
Day 4: Mekong Delta-Saigon (B, L, D)
After breakfast we start our trip with a boat cruise to Cai Rang, and then on to the floating markets of Phong Dien, where there will be hundreds of boats loaded with fruit, vegetables and fish jostling for trade. We will visit the lush orchards and will be treated to a variety of delicious tropical fruit. This will be followed by an afternoon drive to Ho Chi Minh City. (Breakfast)
Day 5: Saigon - Tay Ninh - Cu Chi Tunnels ( B, L )
Following our breakfast we will head to the legendary Cu Chi tunnel. After that we will go to Tay Ninh to visit the most attractive temple in the south of Vietnam, the holy see of the Cao Dai religious sect. The religion is a mixture of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity, with a bit of Islam.
Day 6 Saigon - Danang – Hoian ( B )
We take the morning flight to Danang then visit the Cham Museum in Danang, where there is a display of fine artifacts of the Cham people. We then visit China beach and a marble crafting village. Later we will explore the charming little township of Hoi An with its old houses and temples. We will stay overnight at a hotel in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoian ( B )
In the morning we can enjoy the walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Old town, visit FuKien assembly hall, the 200 year old Tan Ky house, the Japanese cover bridge, Hoi An Museum, and the handcraft workshops.
Day 8: Hoian - Sanctuary Myson ( B )
We drive to visit the holy land My Son. This is a former capital of the ancient Cham civilization that ruled central Vietnam. It is one of four World Heritage listed sites in Vietnam. At the end of the day you will be at your leisure to do your endless shopping in Hoi An. Overnight stay in Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoian – Free day ( B )
Today, enjoy free day for your activities.
Day 10: Hoian – Hue – City in the afternoon ( B )
We embark on a Northern bound journey to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. On the way we stop on the spectacular Hai Van Pass. The journey takes about 5 hours. In the afternoon we will have our first glimpse of Hue to visit the Forbidden Purple City and Dong Ba market. Tonight we will join the Traditional Music show in the boat on the Perfume Pagoda. Overnight stay at a hotel in Hue
Day 11: Hue – Boat trip along Perfume River
Today we will take a boat cruise on the Perfume River to visit the picturesque Thien Mu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda. Also worth visiting are the tombs of the former Emperors Minh Mang. You will be free to enjoy your leisure in the afternoon. (Breakfast)
Day 12: Hue - - Fly to Hanoi - Hanoi city tour ( B, L)
We will take a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi in the morning we will be transferred to our hotel. We take the City tour after that to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum which includes his Mausoleum, the Presidential palace, his House on stilts and the One Pillar pagoda. Then we visit the Temple of literature. After lunch we visit the impressive Museum of Ethnology, the finest museum in Vietnam. We follow this with a walking tour of Hanoi's vibrant Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. In the evening we can enjoy the unique Water puppet show. We will stay overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
Day 13: Hanoi – Hoalu – Tamcoc ( B, L)
We leave Hanoi for Hoa Lu, which was the capital of Vietnam since the 10th century. We will spend about one hour here to visit the King Dinh and King Le temples. We then move on to the picturesque setting of Tam Coc. After lunch we take a 2 hour rowing boat trip along the Boi River. This makes for a truly unforgettable experience. Overnight stay at a hotel in Hanoi.
Day 14: Hanoi – Halong bay (Overnight on the deluxe junk) ( B, L, D)
We depart Hanoi to Ha Long Bay, which is now one of four World Heritage-listed sites in Vietnam. Upon arriving in Ha Long City we transfer to our private boat for an amazing cruise of Ha Long Bay, and if the weather permits, we will have the opportunity for a swim in the crystalline emerald waters. The trip would not be completed without a sumptuous seafood lunch on board. Dinner will be served and you will spend overnight on board.
Day 15: Halong bay – Hanoi ( B,L,D )
Rising early you can hear the sound of the ocean coming to life for another lovely day. We will have our breakfast over sunrise before more exploration of Ha Long bay by junk and then by rowing boat to the lagoons. We will visit Luon cave, and the floating villages. We then sail to explore the Bay and have a fresh seafood lunch on board before approaching Ha Long wharf. We will return to Hanoi at around 03:00PM. Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi.
Day 16: Hanoi departure ( B )
Transfer to airport for your departure flight home.
